Brief:

E-waste is being regulated by E-Waste Management Rule 2016 issued by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Government of India.

Since electronic waste is subject to India's hazardous waste regulations, which is to be reused, recycled or disposed of properly. Electronic Waste (e-Waste) comprises of waste electronic /electrical goods which are not fit for their originally intended use. These include items such as computers, cellular phones, stereos, refrigerators, air conditioners, VCRs, stereos, photo copiers, fax machines and other consumer durables etc.

Any Citizen residing in NDMC Area can sell his/her E-waste through this application. Payment Shall be done by the vendor as per rates given in the "List of Approved rates of E-waste Items". The rates may be seen after registering into the application. No cash payment is being done by the Vendor to the citizen except Paytm or UPI only.

The E-waste collection Van visits the NDMC Area on Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 12 PM and 3:30 PM only. There is no upper or lower limits on number of e-waste items that could be sold through this application. Even request to sell for a single e-waste item can also be made.

In a first of its kind initiative, NDMC has undertaken this project to ensure proper disposal of e-waste in NDMC area and awarded the work to M/s Satellite Vision India Pvt. Ltd. (CPCB registered firm) through e-Tendering process, who is facilitating the citizens for door-to-door collection of e-waste from residences and offices falling under the jurisdiction of NDMC. The following process has been adopted for the disposal of eWaste:

  • NDMC has developed a Web based/mobile App-NDMC 311 application to facilitate the citizen to get registered on NDMC website in the “eWaste tab” and put their request with the disclosure of the articles/gadgets (eWaste) for collection and fix the date and time.
  • The representative of the firm visits the destination on the scheduled date and time after confirmation with the requester through phone/mobile and verifies the disclosed articles.
  • After verification of the eWaste, the firm pays to the citizens the approved rates (derived through tender H1 rate available in scroll against each article/item) for items collected under e-waste.
  • The rates may be seen after registering into the application.

NDMC has collected amount from citizens and departments on accounts of e-waste collection. Details are as under:

  1. Citizens: Rs. 93,395/-
  2. Departments:  Rs. 1,70,919

To use the web application, the following steps have been shown:

Step 1. Click on the Citizen Login on the Left Menu or Click Login Button on upper Right Corner.



Step 2. Click on checkbox to accept Terms and Condition.


Step 3. Register yourself by clicking on the "New User Register Here" link.



Step 4. Enter the Required Details.

Step 5. Enter the OTP sent on registered Mobile. You will be directed to Request Form.



Step 6. Enter the Suitable Pickup Date and Preferred Mode of Payment. Enter your E-waste item details and submit the form.


 

Step 7. Note the Request ID for further reference in the future.



Step 8. Vendor shall contact and collect the e-waste. The payment for the e-waste items shall be made either through Digital Payment Method.
