While the people and citizens need to share a larger responsibility, the NDMC can take a lead role in improving the cleanliness through better Solid waste Management Programme. It can be started small with ensuring cleanliness in Central Vista/ Rajeev Chowk area and grown outwards to cover entire Delhi. We don't lack resource. We lack resolve, discipline and sincerity. Both Carrot and Stick policy must be adopted and accountability of responsible staff must be brought in. If cities like Indore and Surat can do it, why not Delhi, which is the state capital. This suggestion may go completely unnoticed, but I am willing to lead a team of volunteers to join the effort. |
